Selecting a Template

Selecting the right template is the most important aspect in beginning to design your website. While viewing the template selections, try to visualize the template with your unique header and logo. Remember that these are just samples, and we have filled them with articles in foreign languages so that you don’t get confused about the content – they are just placeholders to show you layout.

Keep in mind these key decisions as you narrow your selection down:

• Color Scheme – Changing a complete color scheme on a template is possible, but there is a lot of time involved. Try to pick a template that meets your desired color scheme.
• Layout – this is extremely important. Do you need a template with only two columns, one for the menus and the second for content? Is the menu selection on the right or left? Do you need three columns, left, right and middle? When you are making this decision, figure out what you want in each column. Are you going to display paid advertising on the right column? Do you have other uses for the right column? It is important that you know whether you can fill these columns with content before you select the template.
